Selling Online
Inspired by successfully buying a badminton bag through an online bidding site, I sold my first book. I wish that sounded like a book I wrote, but no. I told the person I bought the bag from that I have no intention of selling anything so she should ignore my zero feedback because I’m a serious bidder anyway. Thankfully, she believed me. After a smooth transaction, I thought about trying to sell, anything, just for the experience of it. So I looked for some books I didn’t manage to read and those I’m not so much interested to keep and put them up for sale. I never really felt they will get noticed but one did, and I’ve already shipped the item this morning. I was sad about giving up that book, which I sold for a very low price, but I thought about it gathering dust and its page turning yellow and I felt good about my decision. I’m still worried about the handling, though; it’s not like the book was wrapped in a corrugated plastic box or any other acid free storage. I don’t literally have hundreds of book to sell but my a little less than a hundred collection at home will probably be better off read by another set of eyes while I can use the money to buy some new ones. I’ll probably just keep the ones that I love best. We’ll see.
