Blogging 101

November 1

I’m only too happy that this blog seems to be running smoothly these days, server-wise I mean. I’m actually afraid to say anything for fear that might jinx it. Anyway, I did get another domain over there at datedthings dot com but I just don’t have time right now to update regularly. Since that blog is supposed to be about old stuff, I need to actually look for (and analyze) old stuff – old movies, books, TV shows, musicals, and everything that would make people go “What now? Nobody’s talking about that stuff anymore.” I’m not sure how that will work out but I’d like to surprise myself.

So there’s a new version of WordPress, again – WordPress 2.6.3 – and I keep seeing this reminder to update eveytime I open my blog dashboard. But I’m a little adamant about doing so because it might mess up my blogs again. I guess I still need to read some web hosting articles to understand about codes and all; everytime I update, I encounter several sorts of problems – could be bugs or something. I’d probably check for web hosting tutorials online. This blog is hosted on a Windows server and datedthings is hosted on Linux. I did that purposely to check which one is better and easier to manipulate. I haven’t really figured it out. Anyway, if you’re planning to get a hosting service, make sure that you check for customer reviews first. It doesn’t hurt choosing a reliable host for starters.

Video Games

November 1

My brother is supposed to stay with us this week while he’s on a break from school. He’ll come with me get the guitar I had repaired at the Mall of Asia  several months back; I hope they haven’t sold it or dispensed of it yet, I’ve been too lazy to go malling lately. I’ll give him that guitar anyway because I’ve already given up on my ability to learn to be proficient with it.

Anyway, that’s going to be the replacement to what I initially promised – a Playstation 3. He’s in college now, anyway, I suppose he’ll appreciate more grown-up “toys.” Or not. I know some adult male friends who still go crazy over playstations or an Xbox 360. Someday, maybe I can buy a Nintendo Wii; I heard I can play tennis with that.

If you’re into video games, there’s an online site that provides a wide variety of choices. Just click on the links above to go to the online stores. More stores, more product choices, more savings. Knock yourselves out!
